Tri Henley & Bloodwise Blenheim open-water Triathlon

Tri Henley Open Water Triathlon

Tri Henley junior triathlon was the 4th race in the south-central series and this took us to Shiplake near Henley-on-Thames. This was an open water swim in the Thames on a lovely sunny day. The swim went well for all our athletes and they all completed it with confidence.

The bike course was very tough around a large bumpy grass field. As always at the series events, the competition was tough but our athletes came out with a few podiums again this week – Great work!

Bloodwise Blenheim Elite Race

This weekend was also the 2nd race in the Elite Super Series where we had a couple of our older Youth members racing at the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Elite Super Series.

Daniel had a great start to his race coming out of the lake in the top third and managed to get himself into a fast and furious bike pack. This is a fast technical, yet undulating bike course and when riding in a pack these youths can reach averages of around 38 km/h! Daniel finished off with a great run picking up places en route to finish 5th in his age category. Katie raced in the female Youth B category and had a solid race until T2 where she lost her trainers! Hence lost vital seconds in transition. She finished well with a good run.
