Mallory Park Triathlon

This weekend we raced at Mallory park. This was part of the East Midlands series so the competition was tough in all categories. There was a good turn out from Beachborough Triathlon Club even though this is not a local event.

Great facilities for all within the Mallory park motor racing circuit, this was a really good triathlon for all abilities and great for spectators with viewing from various places allowing you to view all disciplines.

The swim was a long 400 metre swim. We went off in waves of six with 5 seconds in between each wave, the water was warm, clear and shallow.

The run to transition was a short sprint into the pit lane were are bikes were waiting.

The bike was a short oval lap on the Motor racing circuit , it was a fast smooth lap. I completed 5 laps in my race.

It was a slight incline going back into transition.

Out on to the run of which there was two laps, the run course was a gradual incline going into the pit exit onto the second lap, then going up a slight hill to the finish line.

This was my first time at Mallory park, I was really impressed with the facilities and I loved the fast bike course.

I thought it was a great event hopefully go back next year. I would recommend this triathlon for all abilities  and for your first open water triathlon.
